After
hundreds of hours of work by the Blue Crew on the electronics,
fuel system, drive belt and oil problems that have cropped up
with Blue Thunder at last years Air Races and recently, at the
Golden West Fly In, we are now in the recovery and assembly
modes. The core engine was fitted with new Manley valves,
reduced tension piston rings, a new oil pan and a modified oil
pump. Assembly of the core engine was completed Monday and was
installed back in the airframe marking a major milestone in the
recovery process. The first engine run will be Wednesday or
Thursday with the new Thunder Mustang PSRU front cover.
We are looking forward to a very successful
showing at the Reno Air Races in just three weeks. Please join
us at the AAR facility for Thunder Storm 2007.

We
have been working diligently on blue ever since the mishap at
the Golden West Fly in. John and myself have been working 7
days a week 10-12 hours a day since then and on this past Sunday
the 19th. We "hung" the engine back in blue. All this week we
have been doing all the necessary stuff to "hook" everything up.
The oil system is completely different now so all new hoses,
etc., had to be made up. We are confident that what we have came
up with will be one of the best/most powerful engine setups we
have had thus far! we are going to do some engine runs and
tests this weekend. We are confident that Blue thunder will be
out in front all week this year and are doing everything in our
power to make sure that happens!!! –Chris

See you in September for the seventh annual
